  1. …any suggestions you have on how to improve the slides would be greatly appreciated if you have the time. I really love this strategy, but I’m not sure I’m doing it correctly….
I love the green. I love the power in those images. I love that there are only six slides. I love the freedom these slide give.
They differ from stories and if you read the vPQA Primer that I added to the hard link above you will see that I am not advocating that we drop stories, just that we offer vPQA as an option and a twin strategy with stories to anyone who feels, as I do, a bit out in left field when doing a story.
I am not talking about vPQA as the average run of the mill way of putting up a Google image and talking about it. What I am all fired up about with vPQA is the images as part of a taxonomy so that each of our vPQA lessons using PPT slides builds. It makes it so easy for our kids to understand! We stay contained on our structures, like Cherie did, just as we do in stories.
Ruth I am thinking of going with a hard link here for these PPT slide shows so that we don’t have these out on a Google folder for the entire world to see, as we discussed, since we don’t even know about the legal part of using those images. (My opinion is since we are developing this vPQA data base for shared classroom use we are all right.)
Anyway Cherie I love what you’ve done and in just a few minutes! The main thing is how simple it is and how we all need to know that there are no rules with any of this. We could just put up a slide and start doing some PQA with it and, as you describe happened in your classes earlier this week, just enjoy talking to the kids using the images. Really a great lesson!
