TPRS On Steroids

Stories + Invisibles = TPRS On Steroids

The above formula is true at least for me, and for my own students. They just literally mobbed me after class to get THEIR idea – of how Mr. Lintus Lint go rescued by his daughter – accepted into the not finished story. We argued about whether Lint’s daughter Nevaeh pulled the plug on the vacuum cleaner, or cut the electrical chord with scissors, or traveled via electrical impulses into the machine, or turned the power off. It was nuts. We talked about that one thing for at least a half an hour. I have never heard beginning students speak so much. The formulation of speech (barely comprehensible, lots of …mmmmms….etc.) was something to see. Wow. Crazy.
