Chill reports:
Hi, Ben:
I always worry how my kids will fare when they leave the confines of my classroom and head off to college. I received this e-mail from a freshman at Virginia Tech. Granted Justin was motivated and went beyond the call of duty. With that said, he surely walked through the door that I opened and made it his own. Anyway, he wrote:
“Hi, Madame! I just had my first French class at VT and the teacher spoke in French for 95% of the time. I understood every word! Your class prepared me very well. She told us that mistakes were a natural part of the language acquisition process (like you told us)! Hope your summer…”
His email made my day.
Another job that occurred to me. The “Birthday Person”. I have a calendar where everyone marks their birthday. The birthday person must check the calendar and write “BON ANNIVERSAIRE” + their name on the board in big letters. Then they will lead the “Happy Birthday” song.
My room is almost ready to go!
Best,
Carol
