If, in the middle of CI in whatever form, I come across a bit of content that has power, I try to expand it and repeat it more than a normal sentences. What has power in CI? Images. Images naturally have more power than abstract ideas.
A dog with a square head is more interesting, somehow, than that she is eighteen years old. The fact of her old age, in fact, is quickly shifted by the brain into an image. The fact of the eighteen years becomes less important than the image of the old dog. So we stress the image of the old dog in the story, not her age.
Images bring feelings, and make the CI less caught up in the mind of facts. Images bring feelings bring emotions, and in that way we keep our kids more involved in the story.
