The four Hub D students are a tech team. See the attached Seating Chart for an Ultimate CI classroom.
Hub D is not a physical hub like the other three hubs. Sometimes its members sit together but not always – they could be sitting anywhere in the blue area on the Seating Chart (see attachment). Online, of course, the students are in boxes, which is a strange thing to say, but whether they are in boxes or in hubs, they still have their jobs to do, so it all works.
These are students who over the course of the year help put together videos and related written material that they receive from the Videographer and Story Writer. They move digital information around, primarily for the class website and the end of year celebration.
Here are the four jobs:
1. Documentary Filmmaker – leads the production of the class’s videos into documentary form to be shared at the end of year celebration.
2. Book Publisher – leads the publication of the class’s stories in book form at the end of the year.
3. Curator – organizes and schedules the end-of-year celebration by reaching out to news media, helping parents, etc. The curator is also in charge of organizing the Drawing of the Year competition and the awarding of the $100 cash prize. This process is described later on in this series of articles about Hub D.
4. Archivist – collects in an external drive video footage sent from the Videographer and story writer at the end of each tableau or story. The archivist guarantees that video and story texts are not lost for the April project work, but are stored safely in the class files.
Future articles here will continue describing this important hub in an Ultimate CI classroom.
