Language must be made attractive and the room must be emptied of pretense. It must invite curiosity. Think of quiet evenings around a fire, soft voices, and mystery. Our classrooms can become places where meaning and sound converge in happiness, where a gentle wind blows authentic acquisition into the students’ minds, bringing real appreciation for the language and sweetening the experience for all. In our Star trainings we learn how to put our language instruction into our bodies and into the hearts of everyone in the classroom. We take journeys around the StarChart™ – thats how we do it.

About Ben Slavic
Ben Slavic is a CI language instructor who feels that the CI community has strayed from the pure research in recent years. As a CI purist, he wants to help language teachers align their instruction fully with the research and with the ACTFL Communication Standard. Ben believes that doing this will make the process of teaching using comprehensible input in language classrooms a lot easier for both instructors and students.
In that interest, Ben has created the Ultimate CI System of Language Teaching™ and the StarChart™ –
Ben’s CI goal is to reach and help teachers who are currently breaking away from the old outdated ways of teaching languages. He feels that the language learning process must be made to be fun for students and that the language classroom must be renewed and emptied of pretense and boredom. He feels that languages must invite curiosity and reduce stress in both teacher and students, bringing authentic acquisition to each and every language student in the classroom and not just the rich.
Ben’s Mission Statement:
Despite huge expenditures of public funds, most language students in American schools see themselves as failures in their study of languages. This website exists to properly train and fully provide American language teachers, including ESL teachers, with every skill they need to impact their students in genuinely meaningful ways, thus assuring and upholding the dignity and inherent natural abilities that ALL children have to learn another language.
