Panel 12 says:
Plan lessons to include a variety of activities, student groupings, and types of interaction that will appeal to differing learner interests and learning styles.
And there is an image of a bunch of kids sitting around in groups drawing a picture of a monster together, subtitled as “cooperative learning experiences”.
Last I heard, cooperative learning was on its last legs in the late ’80s. That’s going on 20 years where most of us have seen right through this ridiculous way of teaching, that, within minutes, sees kids off task and wasting time in L1. They are saying here that cooperative learning appeals to “differing learner interests and learning styles”. Maybe it does, but it sure doesn’t result in any acquisition of L2.
2 and 11.
