Dear Ben,
My name is Yvonne Villa. I teach Spanish II, III, and “Native” Spanish in a public high school in NYC. I came to this site because I am interested in comprehension based teaching after attending a few TPRS workshops and doing lots of reading.
I must confess that I haven’t been going on your site, but I plan to as I search to see if there is a place where I can teach using these methods. I will relocate if need be. I tried to incorporate what I have learned in my school a couple of years ago with mixed results because most of my classes are of mixed abilities (heritage and non heritage). I read some discussion about classes with heritage students, and when time allows I will write of my experience.
Thank you for creating a safe space where we may share freely. I intend to do so really soon.
