I am getting ever closer to the desired point where we as a group know everyone bc we can read their bio. I’m getting that email blast out right away, I decided, to get this thing wrapped up. Our goal is a complete list of every name with a bio.
Someone expressed the fear that someone would make a name up and not give their own name. I could see that happening a few years ago when we had the real problems with people spying on others. It still seems so unbelievable that that happened but it did.
But since the overall energy towards this kind of work is no longer as oppositional (some kind of tipping point has been reached, I feel), I just don’t see that happening. I think that most of us can agree that once the bios are completed by all group members or they are deleted, we will be able to say with near 100% accuracy that we no longer have that problem of wondering who is reading in on our discussions. That is my feeling anyway and I think most of us feel that way.
One problem is when there are two names for one person. That has happened a few times. Please let me know if your name in the list above has any such discrepencies.
Robert told me how to email blast and now we are getting closer to our goal. We have a number of new bios posting over the next few days, as well.
All systems go! Then I can put my attention to training videos for new people, which is where it should be.
What do you think about a live forum for real time discussion? A new person has issues in a class, goes to the forum, describes what is happening, bitching allowed but no cussing, gets some responses, goes back in and teaches the next class better. Just thinking out loud.
However, complexity is my enemy on this site. Simplicity is the key. The best thing about this group is that our conversation, though random, is something we can follow still. We need to keep it that way. I’m doing my part with this current clarification and deletion of group members.
