Time to Get Over It

What this work with comprehensible input really entails is lots of mediocre stories, some really pathetic ones, and on occasion a few really good ones. I really want to debunk the notion in this work that we all have to be wonderful and creative and funny and impressive in this work. I must keep saying it, until we get the stinking thinking out of our minds that we all have to be perfect CI teachers. Where did that idea even come from? It’s just a job.

Let’s just finally get over it. Let’s grow up and become adults in this work and stop needing the approval of each new fleeting shadow administrator who comes through our building every three to four years, and who has no idea what we are really doing. How about it? Are we good enough? Stuart Smalley would say yes, and we should believe him, because we are.
