The Difference Between Ben’s Posts And The Forum

Hi PLC Members,

Here is some quick information that Ben wanted me to share with you on how “posting comments” in the PLC should function.  Here’s how to do it…

When Ben posts an article, any comments/questions at the bottom of that article should be a discussion about that specific article.

The Forum is your “Member Hangout.”  This is where you all can communicate with each another about anything that you want!  There are currently two areas of discussion…the General discussion and the Specific questions.

The “General Discussion” is for anything and everything.  The “Specific Questions” are for your specific questions that you want answers to.

Just remember, all interactions between members should now be in the forum and no longer on Ben’s posts.  Comments/Questions at the bottom of Ben’s posts should be specific and about the information in the post.

Hope that makes sense!

Ben and Trevor

  1. Only people in the PLC can sign up for it. There is a big brick wall around it. At some point Trevor will integrate it into the PLC so people don’t have to sign up for it but for now this is what we have. But yes, private to PLC members.

  2. So the all-too-common (I’m in that boat, too!) “Help! I’m confused and in distress!” type posts should now be on the forum? That way we don’t need to wait for Ben to check his e-mail and post it to the blog?

  3. Exactly. This helps me immensely bc we have so many qualified people who can help so much in the more open discussion format. It is a big leap forward for us and I thank Trevor publicly for the mountain of work he has done to set it all up so that we can get better at our craft. He gets it.
