I think that sending this to SK for feedback is a very wise move. You have obviously been spending a lot of time trying to sort things out. If we can have a common understanding with common vocabulary we will be have clearer communication. Thank you.
SK needs to sort out a few things as well.
I know I’m late on reading this but from the novice point of view, it seems that this debate won’t be solved until there is more research done with empirical studies. The road to a “shift in lifestyle and mindset” is a long one. I probably won’t experience the shift in my career!
I don’t agree Jeff. I’m so weary of the phrase “further study is needed.” All I need to do is sit down and feel my heart after doing a class with no targets, feel the warmth, feel the hope, and then look up and see the happiness in the kids’ souls as they leave the room, feel that unstoppable energy of happy kids, and I know that a thousand more empirical studies will never shed light on what I know to be true.
