More on what transpired with Tina last week in Portland from a parent:
Good Morning Tina,
Our twins came home and were a little distressed that you might be getting beat up from other teachers in the district because you were not teaching “their way, and not following a book!” So, I hope you recall that when you and I met at Parents Night, I commended you (and was thrilled) that you were teaching the “mother tongue” method. Truthfully, I don’t know if that is what they call it, but somewhere I heard it and that is how my mom and dad taught me Greek….. as I was growing up.
So, the reason why I am writing is because I want you to keep teaching the kids this way and I completely support it! Is there anything I can do, or write to someone, to let them know that your way is the most natural way . . . and it’s fun for the kids, hence they want to keep learning! I would be happy to do this for you.
Again, keep up the fantastic teaching, and do let me know what I can do to help.
