One of the differences between what we do here and what they do elsewhere in terms of CI is that we always start with an image. You can pick any kind of an image you want, but the best tableaux and stories come from one word and also individually created images. Why?
It is because images created by students engage students more deeply. There’s more “pop” with them. Student cards (Book 1) are less effective, but they are used in the UCI approach because they provide immediate strong classroom management and build community right from the beginning days of the year.
