  1. Greg, I really like how you incorporated the ‘Special Person’ into the exam. I just started doing ‘Special Person’ three classes ago and it is going well but I have a few students who are not taking it seriously. If they know this will be on the exam I think they will be more apt to listen with the intent to understand.
I like how the exam focusses on what the student can demonstrate versus traditional exams that focus on what they can remember and the application of rules.
    Thank you for sharing!

  2. For Persona especial, the kids really like the reading days and they also like the persona especial interviews that are in my FVR library from last year, but I have a hard time doing the interview and making it NOT drag.

    1. Some tips for not making it drag:
      1) After I say three questions then I open the door for students to ask their questions in English. I then write the main words on the board with translation.
      2) I keep my eyes on easily bored students. In TPRS there was the barometer student but with NT, if there are even a few bored students, I will go into a brain break and then go into another activity or finish off what we are doing.

I have been using two truths and a lie. They are shorter and more compelling I feel than a list of traditional question. The design of it encourages compelling input whereas the special chair interview is designed to get to know students. Though we can always encourage funny questions.
