I do this 🙂 It’s a fun way to wake them up in the morning.
I’ve started stating wrong facts during stories, too, in a very matter-of-fact way. One student got so frustrated from correcting me all the time, and her friend just said, “Calm down! She’s acting like Dora on purpose!” I think they’re on to me.
Classic re-tell tactic.
When I finish asking a story, I first retell it– skeletally– and ask for translation. THEN I re-tell with facts wrong and tell them “Si o no?” This really makes them listen. When I get a “no,” the superstars are often able to correct me by saying it properly.
