Here’s a riff you may want to add in when your actors are doing dialogue. Ask the class (Professeur 2 breaks all class stalemates on answers) if the policeman or whomever said it or yelled it or whispered it. The whispering is really very effective. Don’t have them just say something, have them yell it or whisper it.
You can also ask if they said it rapidly or slowly. If the policeman knocks at the door, the combien de fois kid gets the answer from Professeur 2 that he knocked five times and soon, by questioning, we know that the policeman knocked five times slowly and then yelled or whispered or just said something.
Those familiar with the idea of saying things with emotion can see how this expands on that idea. It’s hard to explain. But work with that Professeur 2 more and more. Try it. Defer to him or her all the time. Remember, the Professeur 2 is the quiet brilliant kid who is hard to bring in. They love being the deciders.
