Oh Martin, my heart goes out to you. I know that grey heaviness well, not being able to get much go in your step. It makes me very happy to read that you reconnected with the joy in teaching, making that presentation.
I hope that you find strength today and tomorrow and that you add classes back at the right time, so that you feel stronger and stronger.
I feel so much for you Martin, you are a gentle soul and your love for humanity was evident at Agen. Sending you a prayer from a heart that I just know understands some of your struggle.
Martin, I do not know if you need advice at this juncture, but I feel like I should say to you, “Remember to breathe deeply and calmly between all your phrases when you talk.” This will give you more energy and calm down your system. It will not solve all your problems but in my yoga classes, they say when the going gets tough the tough take a long, slow, steady, deep breath. It will slow down your speech too. Just a thought that came to me I felt you should have.
More important, though, know that you have a friend over here who is with you in spirit.
Love,
Tina
Martin! Yay!
I’m so happy to hear this. It is a reminder to all of us that our inner source of energy and life must be tended. You are such a fine example of showing the strength and courage to do just this. Especially in the face of mainstream expectation to sacrifice ourselves.
You will know the right thing for you as you proceed slowly as you are doing.
Many hugs to you!
Good to hear from you, Martin. I wish you the best.
It was a PD day today at my school. One of the meetings I had to attend involved a presentation from Academic Approach to help us analyze student PSAT data. As much as I did not want to attend this meeting I’m glad I did to help remind me what it’s like to be a student and the apathy we, as teachers, sense from them.
It’s not easy to break through that apathy many of our students carry with them from class to class. But the advice Tina is giving to take a deep breath and savor the pauses in conversation rings so true to our struggle.
Thanks for reminding us of that Martin and Tina.
Thank you Tina, Jen, Sean and Ben, for your heartwarming words. It feels so good to see that other people care, and I am glad I shared with you and quite a number of teachers what happened to me. I did not feel alone.
Meanwhile I have taught my first classes, and it felt perfectly okay. Thank you for all your good advice.
Keep up sending reports Martin. Somehow I think you will be just fine. I feel very strongly about that.
Hello Martin,
I was really happy to read these reports from you. It sounds like you are finding your strength again. Take it easy, no rush. I’m sure you know that. I send my best wishes and lots of good energy.
Ruth
Hi Martin,
I’m so glad to read that things are improving for you. I’m continuing to pray for you. As others have written, just take things one day at a time and don’t feel a need to hurry.
Robert
Martin,
What wonderful news. I am wishing you strength and happiness in this last year (and then some). Glad the European CI community still has you presenting in Germany. Hoping to see you again soon,
your colleague in the South!
