New to our group, Brielle Grover reports from Connecticut:
Dear Ben,
Thank you so much for taking the time to coach me in Connecticut!! It’s really only since finding you and Tina this summer that I finally feel like I am enjoying my job and my kids are learning. For the first time, I do not feel like a music teacher trapped in a Spanish teacher’s body. I can be creative and I can be myself.
I am so glad that you brought up the work of Rudolf Steiner and play. My first teaching jobs were in Waldorf schools in Colorado (Boulder) and NYC. I’m also reminded of Csikszentmihalyi and the concept of flow, which I always have associated with music education and music making but it fits so perfectly with NT CI and the invisibles! I am now thinking I should look into being certified to teach Spanish (I hold a music certification right now), which I never imagined I would want. All this to say, your (and Tina’s) work has reinvigorated my teaching life and allowed me to improve my home life. I am so grateful and so excited to share it with my colleagues.
Thank you so much, again, for sharing your experience with all of us in CT.
All best,
Brielle
