Presenting Structures

Story scripts are written in the present, usually. However, we ask the story in the past. So, when doing the very first part of step 1 PQA, establishing meaning, I suggest that we write down and teach the structures in the past. That way, the students will understand each structure when it shows up in the story. Each structure should be presented in the way it is going to sound in the story. This is one of those counterintuitive things. I say just do it. The present tense forms will be learned during the reading in step 3. Discussion welcomed on this. Harrell? Diana?
