Maggie Smith

Hi,
My name is Maggie Smith. I teach at the School for International Training in Brattleboro, VT. I love TPRS. I decided to try it in the late 90’s after seeing the bashing it took on FLTeach. I had amazing results, just as Blaine kept saying. I taught k-8 French, and knew I had hit a goldmine when my shyest students started jumping up in class to tell me that I had gotten the details about the elephant wrong. Since then, I have been to lots of workshops and have done presentations myself. I no longer teach elementary, as I am semi-retired, but I still teach at a grad school called the School for International Training in Brattleboro, Vt.  I still struggle especially with going too fast and using too much English. The bottom line is, TPRS makes teaching so much fun. Grad students’ stories always seem to have the same themes (take a guess!), and they keep me in stitches. Ben, thanks so much for giving us a place to vent and discuss this wonderful method.
Sincerely,
Maggie
