OWI Detail – 2

Q How would you define a balanced character?

A. I would say that it would be one with four or five details. That is as much as I feel works for me. However, I do sometimes like to add one random outrageous detail. For example, a snowman who hates carrots and coal might have a really big body but a really small head. Or three eyes. I also like small facial features all scrunched up in a big face. So add one grossly exaggerated feature. More than one is too much. I want the kids to react to these characteristics in much the same way that a dog does upon hearing some weird sound and then crooks its neck to the side to try to understand it.
