” We stop judging ourselves.”
Much needed during these first days.
I was doing Matava scripts with my level 1s. Some of them were out of this world. Some of them were very blah.
So we just did OWI after talking about the ICS rubric. I asked students where can you grow.
At the end, I asked kids to show me with their fingers where on the rubric they are.
Awesome way to end the class. I thought.
You can sit beside someone and have a conversation about the weather and whether or not it’s going to rain tomorrow and how your garden is doing and what’s for supper, and it can be a wonderful, comfortable moment where you simply enjoy each other’s company without turning out a script fit for an Oscar winning movie. Classes can be like that too, where there’s nothng exciting or world-shaking going on, but you are communicating and enjoying each other’s company.
I am saying this over and over again Judy: this is where I need to grow as a PERSON, to just enjoy company and have a conversation with people and get to know them.
