In a press conference last month at the Masters Golf Tournament in Augusta, GA, Tiger Woods made a very simple response to a reporter’s question about why he wasn’t playing well:
Q: I know you had a practice session on Thursday, but how were the rest of them? Was it just a problem with transferring of weight?
A: Absolutely. I can get it on the range, I can get it dialed in there, and we’ll work on the same things and it feels really good, and I go to the golf course and I just don’t quite trust it. It just means I just need to do more reps.
Notice that Tiger doesn’t say anthing about working harder and figuring his swing out or changing anything. He just talks about trusting his swing and getting more reps.
I think it’s good advice for us, also. We tend to make things so complicated for us and for our kids, when all we really have to do is relax and get more reps in our CI practice.
