We can only send one tape to a visiting school (CC Rule #3). So, it wouldn’t be a bad idea at all, to increase incentive and buy-in from each class, to make all our classes compete against our other classes to earn the right to submit the tape representing our school.
We make the competition among all other classes studying the same language within the building, so that only one “best story” emerges from the entire school. The kids want to win the honor.
This sets off class pride and community building within the program and within the building. Watch what happens. The kids are all of a sudden more serious about their story.
And of course this sets the stage for class self reflection, for the proper implemenation of jobs, jGR/jDR, awareness of use of English, etc. The class begins to self-police itself more.
