1 thought on “Chants As Classroom Management Tools”
I’ve always had a lot of fun with the following Directions Rhyme chant, or very truncated versions of it:
izquierda, derecha
delante, detrás
cerca y lejos
y ya los demás
abajo, arriba,
aquí y allá
al lado y adentro
¿Dónde está?
And in most classes I have kids that always jump at the chance to move with me as I chant and dance. Obviously the chanting and dancing, which could be just a slight head bobble, is powerful. I don’t know if the above chants will catch on, but I’m gonna give it a shot. I’d love to think that a student could lead the chanting.
