  1. Just skimmed the principles. Cool but like Ben is saying, things have to align with the principles.

On a similar topic, I had a a wonky unmotivated class today which is usually my star class. The reason why everyone was unmotivated: HOMEWORK. At minimum kids have at least 2 hours daily. Weekends are also taken up by projects or homework. Then on top of that a student who is slightly improving on jGR skills tells me to teach grammar because some freshman high schooler talks to hear about how ineffective and useless my class was last year. What!?

    –Rant Coming–

I whole heartily agree what Tina said about Krashen. We are at war. School is judging kids and pitting them against what can potentially be good. How are kids suppose to see me as the teacher who cares and listens to them when I got bad school culture around me?

Lastly, I just received that the key note speaker to our professional development for FL teachers will be some dude from College Board and ALL of the workshops will be about PERFORMANCE ASSESSMENTS. I am not going; not even for PD units.
