Carroll County, Tennessee

Hello Ben,

This note has been on my mind to write for many weeks. I wish to reach out to anyone who is not feeling appreciated where he/she now is teaching. I would like to suggest that they consider transplanting themselves to Carroll County, Tennessee.

Next year, there will be two different school districts where a teacher of CI experience would be received with open arms. Each teacher would be THE foreign language department, teaching Levels 1 and 2. Foreign language teachers are so difficult to find here, that this year one of the schools has resorted to using a computer program. The second school might need to do the same within the next year or two when the current teacher (me) will be “retiring” (a second time).

Carroll County is in rural West Tennessee, exactly 100 miles between Nashville and Memphis. It has a population of 28,400 and five school districts, which means each high school is relatively small. I was born and raised in northern California, but have lived here 35 plus years, and I love this place.

I would be glad to talk to anyone who might be interested.

Thanks, Ben.
