If you are using OWI and the Invisibles and are at all confused about how the two terms interface, it is understandable. We can say that one word images are really just class created-characters. So when you see OWI anywhere, just think “class-created image”, whether you use it to start an Invisibles story or just as a singleton activity. So when we make an Invisibles story, we can get our images to start the process off either from one of our class- created images or from individually-created images. I would have used the new terms earlier but one word images have been around since 2003 so the term kind of stuck for that activity. Then, when Kathrin Shectman suggested in France last summer that OWI would be a great source of images to start off an Invisibles story, we started doing that without changing the term, but really it is more easily understood as simply a class-created image.
