In the interest of teaching my students about the nature of relationships, that there are beginnings and ends to (human) relationships, I will project The Little Prince in French on the board and read it from my heart to them in English in our last three 85 minute classes.
They can’t read it in French but the lessons in that book are so profound and will captivate them so well that I am confident it will work. They will calm down and listen once they get the power of the words, and the images will entertain them.
I will report back later today after I start this idea with my three block classes to share if it worked.
Communities can’t be just blown up on the last day. Now that we ARE a community (thanks to this work), we can end our time together consciously. There is no better way that I can think of to do this than by reading The Little Prince to them.
It’s all about mental health.
