The Amazing Three Steps

I just went through an 85 minute class on a story with 6th graders. We didn’t even do any PQA and we didn’t even finish the story. I just stayed with my barometer, the kids stayed with me, and it was magical.
When the fabric started to unravel a few times, I just started over and slowed down. We did a few brain breaks. It really worked. So just hang in there. We can do this. Just go slowly and ask circled questions. The Three Steps are just amazing.
By the way, I welcome little reports from the field like this. I would like to hear more of them. I think it would be cool if you have a planning period after a class and just sit down and share your observations on what just happened.
You can write them in a comment field, send them to me at benslavic@yahoo.com to be published as an article or write them in over on the Forum (see the tutorial hard link above on how to join the Forum, which is a kind of place to ask questions if you are new.)
