For some reason, this year, I am using stories much more than in the past. I don’t know why. And much less PQA. In some cases the kids want to get to a story so badly that I just dispense with the PQA. It doesn’t seem to bother them, in fact it bothers them when we are sitting there counting reps to set up the story when they could be starting up a story right away, without the PQA. Does anybody else do that, skip PQA? What has been an old friend of mine for many years has become my new friend again. Stories – with the important qualification that they are stories with the student jobs in place – rock the house. And I can always digress into a One Word Image or some TPR or some work with verbs (Verb Slam, etc.) or even into some PQA during the story. Maybe we can work on this in one of the war rooms next summer. Hey, we’re already thinking about next summer. That can only be good!
