At conferences people talk about how certain expressions are late acquired, like the difference between ser and estar, and so should be avoided early on. Over on the Forum a few months ago Catharina has written that “mistakes” in output come from “not having had enough input, not from structures being late acquired. The lack of input comes from lack of time.”
That resonates with me.
Does what Catharina said imply that the teacher need not be overly concerned if a structure is late acquired? Can’t teachers just use it anyway? Do they have to shelter it?
Just curious.
