All members of this group are asked to send in a bio. Where do you teach? Why are you in this group? What do you hope to get from the group? One short paragraph is enough.
Why do I ask for bios? You really don’t want to know. All I can say is that this is not a public discussion, it is a private one. When it was was public…again, I’m not going into that. Except trust was eroded. That’s enough to say right there.
So, and I am talking to lots of newer members who may not yet know about the bio request, please send one in. I’ve got a few waiting in the queue. I will put the new ones in the queue (I should get about 40 in the next week or so) and we can feel safer when we comment here.
There have been problems with open access due to the complex changes we are making to the site now as we try to get a forum in place. If you waltzed in through one of those accidently opened doors please waltz out. I refuse to go back to the feeling of not knowing who I was talking to before we became a private PLC in 2010.
It’s apparent that I am going to have to go through the list of group members again and delete memberships. Last time I did that I deleted 67 people. It was the right thing to do to guarantee the quality of the discussion here, which wanes when we don’t know who might be reading what we say here. If this weirds you out, deal with it. Go join the TPRS listserve.
Dr.Patrick’s class at UGA is exempt, of course, as we know that they are in this group because they are required to be. If you are in Dr. Patrick’s class, please send me your name so that I can know that.
