Learning Style Inventories are probably easy to find on the internet, but I prefer the one I have been using for years, which is very simple. It has the advantage of being able to be completed in about 20 minutes by the students.
One point about the LSI is that the discussion has to be in English. Honestly, though, the way I do it (I look at them and try to guess their numbers – more on that later) and we spend a lot of incredibly valuable time in that way, time spent getting to know each other.
Like the cards, I do this over time, there is no rush and it is the perfect bell ringer activity. So that when I need to fill a minute (never in a TPRS/CI class!) or take a break or there is a natural break, in the same way I can pull out a CWB card over the course of the year, I just look at any kid and guess their learning style and their number distribution. Very very important work in October.
