That is the BEST reason to go SLOW! I keep thinking of how Barb Cartford -in her session on Comprehension Checks (NTPRS) gave candy to people who indicated they didn’t understand something. She thanked them sincerely – telling them they made her a better teacher etc etc etc. It was all done very sincerely – you could tell she meant it. She tried to take any negative stigma away from not understanding something….
