Ben, in your first paragraph just write “send a bio to my email and I will post it”. Just makes that process clear. Those are my two cents worth.

This new section etc sounds great. I second Charlotte’s snip. I second that because people will read the email onscreen and are bound to misread it – we do that!
I’m suggesting some webifying of your email so it’s easier to read and navigate onscreen. eg inclusion of links to click on and can I suggest including some sub headings? I suspect people will probably keep the Welcome email for a while so they can refer back to it.
Send a bio back to this email address and I will post it on the PLC to introduce you to the group. You can read sample bios from other PLC members here.

Dang you’re good! Give me a minute to make the changes and read the letter again with your changes and please give me feedback at that point.
And please hold my hand on the new beginner’s training materials. I want to put my heart into that. But there is so much to say. Always keep making suggestions like those above as I post those new materials over the next year. Wow. No. Wowie.
By the way, your bio has not been lost, just been so busy. It’s in the queue for this week.
Ben, I would suggest two things:
1. Statement that the bio is necessary for continued membership in the PLC
2. Deadline for submission
Love the first sentence and I’ll put it in.
On the deadline, I think that there are people who may read here one month and not the next, who don’t check in very often. So I was thinking of taking all the red names who lack bios in a few weeks and sending an email blast directly to them so that I know they got it before deleting them. Then delete them by mid May or something.
Then as new people join the PLC, the welcome letter should give them a reasonable but short amount of time to submit the bio.
This all sounds great to me!

That is great! You were both reactive (cleaned house) and proactive by ensuring that newcomers will see and comply or else. Great to the point letter. This should ease a lot of people on this blog who may have been quieter in the past but will feel freer to come forward. All good. Thank you for all your hard work.
