Martin Anders is teaching in a Waldorf School in Germany.
Wonderful article! My son is in his second year at the Waldorf preschool in our town (luckily just 4 blocks away!) and we’re so happy he gets to play outside so much (vs doing academically oriented tasks). How could anyone grow up in our extremely text-rich world and not learn to read, unless they’ve been implicitly taught that reading sucks?
Search on Chris Stolz’ blog for a great comparison between Waldorf and TPRS. Also Judy shared a wonderful essay a couple years ago on the topic of reading, which is on her blog, something “A Thousand Rivers”… it’s the best I’ve ever read on the issue of reading.

I teach in a public charter Waldorf high school. The pay sucks but I (now we, we’re growing and I have a wonderful colleague) have 100% academic freedom. Ben
