I’ll be on the road so not blogging the next two weeks. My suggestion is that readers who are getting ready to go into the classroom right now watch some of our videos (“resources” hard link above) and also go into the Beginning of the Year or Starting the Year categories. Readers can also read back in the archives for ten years of articles and comments. Things are changing so fast and intensely right now that I can’t share everything I want to here since I won’t be back in Denver really until September. I’m feeling a real distance from Blaine and even Diana. Don’t forget the Forum (register for it by clicking on the Tutorials link.) There we can talk and get questions answered entre nous. The Forum is gaining some traction as a useful tool for conversation and hopefully this fall slowly grows into its full potential as a way for us to communicate real things as they happen in our classrooms on a daily basis. Have a great year! The more I do this work, the more I talk to teachers, the more I know how right we are, how we are doing the right work. Courage. Nothing good happens fast. I know that to be true. There are no failures, just small steps towards success that seem like failures because of all the dust raised. If you can get even a few minutes of CI in at the end of class it is a victory. It’s like turning one of those big super tankers around in the middle of the ocean. It can’t happen fast. We’ll get ‘er done! 2016-2017 is going to be the best year for CI in the world as each of us tries and tries again each day, because we are so filled with courage in spite of the challenges, which are considerable if we take Craig’s recent post here to be any indicator:
