I had an insight about our work this morning. I think that 90% of what young people need when they are growing up is to learn social skills.
And yet most of what they are trained in, in schools the way they are and have always been set up since the Greeks, probably, is for the academic gains side. This makes no sense but it is what the kids get.
Kids need one thing to succeed in life far more than anything else but they get other things. I think that without being taught the social skills first, anything they gain academically is more or less useless to them in later life anyway.
Now look at us. We are just about the only ones in school buildings who are in a position to teach them the social skills in class during our instruction. That is the real value of teaching using CI. It teaches them to be in a group.
As per so many articles in parenting magazines about teaching kids to listen.
