“If kids want to pause the timer for a grammar question or a funny story, I will gladly pause it for them.”
I should bend more to kids wanting to tell a funny story. Why not, right? Why not let kids sprinkle the CI session a little anecdote. My tendency has been to be a drill sergeant about staying in the L2, and as a result, many of my students fight against it.
