I don’t know if the terms “teacher abuse” is a term, but it’s a thing. It usually is due to a narcissist type of administrator, or some whack job of a department chair or colleague. I used to stay in those schools even though I knew that “something was wrong”. In one case, I stayed for eleven years until I could barely breathe before hitting the exit.
I wish that I had read this quote (italics mine) a lot earlier! –
“Success is impossible in the wrong environment. You can work yourself into an early grave if you are in an environment where your value is not rewarded.
“Money is a reward for the creation and delivery of value in the right environment.
“Do everything in your power to get out of the wrong environment and move to the right environment for you, where your value will be recognized, received and rewarded.”
