I will be attending Las Vegas along with my two colleagues Michelle and Therese (also members of this PLC)

iFLT in Breckenridge… very excited! Hope to see many of you there!
I will also be going to the IFLT in Colorado. OH yeah.
IFLT in CO.
IFLT!
IFLT, baby! Bringing my mom ( babysitter) and my kids, and I’ll have a new hip!! Woohoo!
I wish I was going to either one (or both) of those. However, I will be at Sweetbriar College this summer for the week-long German TPRS workshop.
and I am jealous and often wish that I taught German so that I could be a part of it!!
with love,
Laurie
I will be attending NTPRS with at least one of my colleagues, and possibly two. We are hoping to hire two full time Spanish teachers and they also will be attending if they wish. In total there may be five members from our school at the conference. (I wont’ be wearing my snorkeling mask. I have forotten how to change the photos.)
I am going to both and am thrilled. A parent at our school is helping me with the travel costs.
I’m very excited because I’m going to NTPRS. Except for attending an hour long introduction to TPRS about 6 years ago, which at the time I thought I could never apply to Latin, this will be my first conference for TPRS! Of course I was completely wrong about that, and I’m glad I was. TPRS has been a huge part what has saved my Latin program and my joy in teaching.
Since then I’ve learned mainly through Blaine’s and Ben’s books, this blog, the LatinBestPractices group on Yahoo and just four years of trying things out in my classes. Looking forward to meeting some of you in person!
iFLT
iFLT and NTPRS. Having just seen Laurie and Susie for less than forty-eight hours was a preview of things to come and will get me through ’til July. We are on the home stretch!
Same as Chill! I can’t wait!
And Drew…if you’re going to NTPRS, you could talk to Betsy Paskvan, who is the chair of her mixed-TPRS/traditional department. I so wish I taught with her. Last year, that department watched Susie videos during their weekly training hours.
I’m going to NTPRS for the first time. Can’t wait!
Hoping to do both – but NTPRS is looking like a for-sure!
Well, iFLT *IS* a for-sure. I bit the bullet and registered and paid for it tonight. I am dying to see Colorado and looking forward to lots of coaching. Hopefully I will be able to swing Vegas as well.
You can’t lose either way. Big difference is how we will be teaching real kids in Breckenridge. But NTPRS is always nothing but one big fast moving and creative infoblast. Everytime I go to one of those conferences I feel like I really would have missed something had I not gone.
Well, I’m working on that one too! 🙂
I will be going to the conference in Breckenridge. NTPRS is great and I learned a tremendous amount last year. There are definite advantages to each conference. I feel that the main organizers of the conference in Breckenridge are more open to making the connections with ESL and educational policy in general. As I have stated in the past, my discussions with Blaine Ray about ESL have been worse than disappointing. Krashen was one of the supporters of the Save our Schools march and conference last year in Washington, D.C. Teaching is very much a political act. I will be with those who most understand that.
I’m part of the travel team. :o) Colorado then Vegas. Whoo hooo!! Can’t wait to meet/see you all!!
with love,
Laurie
I’m going to both! and with substantial support from my school! It’ll be my first iFLT, my 4th NTPRS. Arriving in Breckenridge Sunday 7/15 with my husband Larry who gets to hike the whole week. I’m planning on going to the intro workshop on the 16th, just to soak in as much exposure as possible. Staying until 7/20 so I get to hike at least one day before flying to Vegas Saturday night for the Sunday coaching workshop. Can’t wait!
