As I make the finishing touches to our new book, I keep finding paragraphs I really like. Here is one:
…in the approach to teaching languages outlined in this book, students are not just students – they also work for you in creative and dynamic, even joyful ways as your employees. We do not pay the students who take on jobs with candy or other commonly accepted forms of classroom currency. This can hinder their internal motivation and can upset the overall well-being of the community. We want the students to take on the jobs for the pleasure of peer recognition and for the satisfaction of serving their community.
