Screen Shot Power Point (SSPP) – "Runaway"

This one is from Diane:
Hi Ben,
While we’re passing around screenshot PPTs, here is another one. It’s for “Runaway” (about a boy & his refrigerator). It’s very sweet. –  3 min., 41 sec. – a little longer than some Video & Discuss videos. Also, there is some English esp. at the beginning and end of the video. Muted sound solves that.

If there are any Chinese teachers — the content of this video (in terms of language useful in talking about it) really coordinates nicely with “Susan???“ ch. 6. That book is a year 1 or, better, early year 2 reader by Terry Waltz.
In other fun news around here:
– Stephen Krashen has taken an interest in, and involvement with, a group of CI Chinese teachers via a Facebook group. He’s also been tweeting occasionally to the woman in charge of the new USA government goal of seeing 1,000,000 US students take Mandarin by the year 2018 (or is it 2020?) – to say that comprehension-based instruction achieves much more, esp. for a language like Chinese.
– More locally, Lynnette said today that during the week of exams (when WL has more time available) we’ll be reading and discussing “The Big CI Book “. Yippee! Fun.
