Steps Used in Summative Testing in an Invisibles Classroom
(based on a 3-hour testing period – adjust the time amounts given below to fit your available testing minutes)
1. Spend 100 minutes creating a story as is done using the questioning levels in the Create phase of a normal class.
2. Give your students an 80-minute exam based on the story, as follows:
3. Section 1 (20 min.) – they write what they heard during the creation of the story. (During these 20 minutes you write up the story in the TL.)
4. Section 2 (20 min.) – they translate what you put up on the doc camera.
5. Section 3 (20 min.) – they take the (20 question) quiz provided to you by the quiz writer.
6. Section 4 (20 min.) – they do an extended dictée on sentences you choose from the story.
