  1. Personally, this report makes me feel great, because when I came up with those ideas in India as they are described in ANATS and ANATTY, I knew that this was something better (for certain of us) than anything that had come before it, better than anything I’ve ever invented by far. This is a big Christmas present, Laura. Thank you! All that work and dreaming and struggling and waking up at night to define and form the new ideas, all the enmity from the traditional TPRS community, was worth it. Even if my work with OWI and the Invisibles reaches only one teacher in the authentic way (not twisted out of shape), it is enough for me.

  2. This story, Laura, is better than A Christmas Carol in its power to warm my heart. I’m so happy for you. And thank you so much for sharing this. Seriously. It brings tears to my eyes.

  3. Laura and Anne Matava both teach in the same place on the Maine Coast. Imagine getting two of the great ones right there in the same building! Both have guided me along through recent difficult times with compassionate words and deep understanding. As long as there are teachers like those two out there, I’m in for the next round. Put ’em up, Fear! Y’aint got nothin’!

  4. Yeah Laura and Anne and YOU jen and Sean and others of us have supported me in recent turmoil in a way that I could never have predicted way back when we started out here in 2007. What a thing is Friendship, a gift from the heavens, a balm for aching hearts.
Speaking of mainstream group members for years and years, Ben Lev is coming out from CA with his bike in a few weeks and we have a WARM January here in CO so I look forward to doing some peddling with him and catching up.
Also for those who know Martin Anders in Germany, he retired recently and we shared some nice thoughts about the journey. He was the actual first person to join the group in 2007. For those who know him, he is one of the strong ones, those who can cry.
    I love this group.

    1. No kidding, Martin was the first to join in 2007?! That’s amazing. It’s also great to know you’re spending time with Ben Lev. I hope he is doing well with his grotesquely large classrooms in CA. Don’t get caught in a snowstorm on your bikes!

      1. I don’t know if it is global warming, but we’ve got mainly 50s here this month and predicted for the next ten days when Ben will be here. Today I did a four hour ride in 60 degree weather. Hope that stays here for Ben. He comes to Colorado to get away from Cali and do some real riding. Strange brew!
After all the ten years of only knowing Martin in these pages, I met him at Agen in 2017. He is a classic warmhearted Waldorf teacher, introspective and very much in touch with the need to bring love into his instruction. Do your remember his honesty when he went through that crise de conscience a few years ago ? It galvanized us and warmed many hearts and we all felt less alone, connected to Germany by his courage to share those days in his classroom. Any teacher who can share without complaint what they are going through in their jobs is my kind of teacher. But so many of us still keep the walls up. No need to do that. We don’t need any more walls.
Time goes by and we go with it. Think of the professional and personal growth we have all shared here over the years. God gives with both hands.
