Report from the Field – Keri Colwell

Hi Ben –
Things are going very well. I just gave mid-terms to one class of Spanish III. This was the first real “test” they’ve had all year and 21 out of 24 students got an “A” and the other three got “B”. Two of them actually told me that my class was the one they felt most prepared for regarding exams even though they haven’t had any “homework” nor “tests” all year!
Both my assistant principals have come in to see what I am doing and they absolutely love it. One nominated me and I became “employee of the month” because of it. They completely support me and recently found some money for me to buy some props for my classroom during our TPRS stories. The kids really enjoy the little unexpected surprises that I pull out if the opportunity presents itself in a story!
Well, thanks again and I am really looking forward to using the PLC! (No one in my department really understands what I am doing when it comes to TPRS and I really would love to talk to other TPRS teachers!!!)
So, thank you again because I wouldn’t be teaching this way if I had not accidently stumbled upon your website last spring.
Keri
