Judy,
Slowly but surely the number of participants is growing. Look, you’ve already outgrown the original location where it was going to be held at. That is great!
I’m very happy for you. It is hard work for you but in the end your perseverance will pay off. I’m certain of it.
Each year, it will get more attended I think, and if the conferences here can be an indication of how it will unfold for you in Europe, the idea should really take off!
When teachers can see/feel/experience how empowering this method is for the kids and themselves, and contrast the undeniable results it yields with how pathetic the state of FL education is over there, there is no going back I think.
Now all you need is a nice journalist or two willing to embrace your vision and write a nice article to give you the push needed. Unfortunately, marketing will be necessary b/c word of mouth alone is never enough.
Talking of word of mouth, did that young Spaniard get in touch with you or enroll in the conference?
I’ll definitely be there, and since you so kindly asked me to present there, as I told you I intend to do that. I have been thinking about that lately and I’ll contact you off blog for that. My mind is on finals right now, happening in the next 2 weeks.
I’m looking into the airline tickets right now. Having worked for the airlines for so long before becoming a teacher, I had forgotten how expensive it is to fly overseas. Oh well, I need to visit with my brother and parents anyways, and I have family in Toulouse that I want to see afterwards so it is well worth it for me.
I can’t wait to meet you and all the other teachers from this blog, but it’s TTFN ( (ta ta for now).
Judy –
I want to attend next year!!! so let me know the plans for 2014!! 🙂
