I got this email from Louisa. It’s about presenting at conferences and there is in fact a category here for that here (Presenting to Colleagues on the Method) but I think we should add to that category whenever we can, as this topic is going to come up for many of us in the future.
Hey Ben,
I have a question for the PLC and wanted to run it by you. I have an opportunity to present in March at the California Language Teacher Association conference here in San Diego. It came about because when I registered for the conference I noticed that there are no sessions on CI/TPRS so I emailed the coordinators and asked why. They responded that the interest seems to have “dropped off” as no one submitted a proposal on that topic.
They offered me a potential spot on Sunday morning so I jumped at the chance. Now I need some guidance as to what to present! CI/TPRS is so big that I thought I’d see what advice/ideas the PLC might suggest.
The theme is “Technology and the Common Core”.
My interests lie in helping other teachers implement CI/TPRS in the high school. Using Movie Talk and Educreations could tie in nicely. I only have 60 minutes to present.
Thanks,
Louisa
